Since our rebranding at the beginning of the year, Country Trust Hampshire has had a busy spring/summer/autumn season, enabling over 3800 pupils to discover their local working countryside. We have worked with over 30 different farmers to provide FREE educational and memorable visits throughout Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

Excitingly, 2017 is already looking like its going to be an even busier as we have 3 new Countryside Days for Schools hosts keen to share their farms with local schools!

At the beginning of 2017 we will hold launch meetings for various projects across the Hampshire area. These are always well attended and are offered to all schools free of charge. During these meetings teachers enjoy a locally sourced brunch, and we share lots of free educational resources and discuss local visit opportunities. Teachers are always keen to share their ideas and experiences, providing encouragement and strategies to help others fully utilise the working countryside as an engaging and enriching educational experience. There is no obligation for schools to then take part in the project.

For schools in the north east of Hampshire, Alresford, Winchester area - The Alresford Agricultural Show Society's Countryside Education Competition launch meeting takes place on Thursday 2nd January at Herriard Park Farm near Basingstoke:

Please note that The North East Hants Agricultural Society has been incorporated into the Alresford Show Society, so the combined funding means that this year's Countryside Education Competition is going to be even better than ever before. We can now offer qualifying schools across the north east of Hampshire and Alresford area help with transport costs and we can have even more trophies!

For schools in the New Forest area and throughout Hampshire, the New Forest and Hampshire County Show's Countryside Education Competition launch meeting takes place on Wednesday 1st February at The Countryside Education Trust's Home Farm in Beaulieu:

For schools in the Romsey and Southampton areas the Romsey Horse and Agricultural Show Society's Countryside Education Competition will also be launched at the beginning of 2017. Details of last years project are still available below:

For schools near Salisbury, Lambourne, Twyford and Andover we also offer launch our Countryside Adventure Competitions soon. Suitable for pupils with and without special needs, these days offer flexible and accessible access to the working countryside at specially selected sites.

Country Trust Hampshire often calls upon specialists to make the most of specific features of a farm or private Estate that we are taking children to visit. Each year we coordinate a visit to the Bereleigh Estate and thanks to the kindness of their neighbours, the children enjoy meeting at very close range the inhabitants of a traditional farm pond. Watch our video for a fantastic insight into what lives in a seemingly quiet farm pond
